JAMMU, Nov 14: The 150th anniversary of “Vande Mataram” was today celebrated by various institutions with great enthusiasm.
The day was celebrated at Government Middle School Rattanpur.
The event featured vibrant Dogri folk songs, a nukkad natak on mobile addiction and Vande Mataram song recitations, showcasing the students’ talent and cultural pride.
School Incharge Anjna Khajuria extended her warm wishes to all students, encouraging them to stay disciplined, culturally rooted and responsible in today’s digital age.
A special singing event was organised in GDC Majalta to honour the historical significance of the song, celebrate its enduring legacy, and inspire patriotic spirit among the students.
Principal of the College Prof (Dr) Shalini Sharma addressed the gathering, emphasizing the song’s timeless message of devotion to the motherland.
The programme was successful with the Co-operation of Prof Dalip, Prof Naresh, Prof Abbas and Prof Anuradha Chowdhary.
The Department of English, GDC Vijaypur, successfully concluded the first phase of the Vande Mataram initiative by organizing a pledge-taking ceremony in the Seminar Hall of the college today.
The event was organized under the able guidance of worthy Principal Dr Ashu Vashisht.
The ceremony witnessed enthusiastic participation from faculty members and students, who came together to reaffirm their commitment to the values of unity, patriotism and national service.
During the event, participants took a solemn pledge to uphold the spirit of the nation and contribute positively to society.
Pt Prem Nath Dogra GDC, Samba organized the screening of a documentary on the patriotic song Vande Mataram as part of its ongoing celebration of national unity and cultural heritage.
The programme was held under the guidance of Principal Dr Meeru Abrol.
In her address, Dr Abrol highlighted the enduring significance of Vande Mataram, recalling its powerful role in motivating countless freedom fighters during the Indian independence movement.
She emphasized that the song continues to symbolize national pride, emotional strength and unity, inspiring youth to preserve India’s cultural ethos and environmental values.
GDC, Ramnagar organised a Vande Mataram Singing Competition to mark the ongoing commemoration of the 150th Anniversary of Vande Mataram.
The event was conducted under the guidance of Prof (Dr) Bhavnaish Chand Anthal, Principal, GDC Ramnagar.
A total of nine students from different semesters enthusiastically participated in the competition, showcasing their musical talent and patriotic fervor.
The competition was adjudged by an esteemed panel comprising Prof Sumita Rao, Dr Pankaj Sharma, and Prof Eisha Gohil, who evaluated the performances on various parameters.
In addition to the competition, the cultural programme featured soulful performances by students including patriotic songs and poems, further enriching the spirit of nationalism and cultural pride.
Bhartiya Lok Sangeet Kala Sansthan also celebrated 150 years of smaranotsav of national song Vande Matram.
The program was inaugurated by V K Magotra, former Regional Director, of Directorate of Field Publicity as the chief guest of the function. Tara Singh Charak and Mukesh Singh were the guest of honours.
The chief guest lauded the efforts of the organizers in making such awareness programmes colorful and effective on the theme of National Integration for inspiration of younger generation.
The SDM office RS Pura organized a grand programme to commemorate the day.
The event was graced by MLA R S Pura Dr Narinder Singh as the chief guest and was held under the supervision of Anuradha Thakur, SDM RS Pura.
In her message, Anuradha Thakur highlighted the significance of Vande Mataram and its importance in India’s freedom struggle.
MLA Dr Narinder Singh appreciated the efforts of SDM R S Pura for organizing the programme, and praised the participants for their enthusiasm and patriotism.
