JKPJAC discusses issues of pensioners

JAMMU, Nov 14: A meeting of J&K Pensioners Joint Action Committee (JKPJAC) was held here today which was attended by a large number of pensioners representing various departments, ex-employees leaders and EJAC members.
Speaking in the meeting, Ganesh Khajuria and others stressed the importance of building a broad-based platform to raise concerns, seek timely solutions and secure their legitimate rights.
The speakers resolved that any injustice, discrimination, or step-motherly treatment towards pensioners will be opposed strongly.
Demands raised in the meeting were merger of 50 per cent DA with basic pension, enhancement of fixed medical allowance from the existing Rs. 300 to Rs. 1000 per month, implementation of Central Government Health Scheme in J&K, including benefits to pre-2019 Pensioners/Family Pensioners and implementation of Central Medi-claim Policy in J&K.
Other demands included reduction in commuted pension recovery period as per the Apex Court Judgment.
Prominent among those who were present in the meeting were Balwan Singh (Education Department), Amrik Singh (Agriculture), Dharminder Singh Bhargav, Rajinder Kumar Sharma, Kulwant Singh (Health Department), Balvinder Singh, Rakesh Kumar Sharma, Raj Singh, Anil Kumar (PHE), Mohinder Kumar and Prem Lal ( Non-Teaching Staff–Colleges) and others.
