JAMMU, Nov 13: The J&K unit of Shiv Sena (UBT) has expressed resentment against the selection list recently released by the medical college run by Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Shrine Board, which includes 42 Muslim and only 8 Hindus candidates.
In a press conference here today Shiv Sena J&K president, Manish Sahni called for a countrywide movement to ensure that Hindus should have the first right to admission in educational institutions run by Hindu temples and shrines.
“We are not against any religion or community but Hindus should have the first right to admission in educational institutions run by Hindu temples and shrines,” he maintained adding: “Almost all the Hindu organizations are on streets over this issue.”
Sahni urged the J&K LG Manoj Sinha (also Chairman of the Shrine Board) to ensure establishing a special quota prioritizing Hindus at Shri Mata Vaishno Devi Medical College and University.
Vishal Kohli, president Shiv Sena Youth Wing and Sanjeev Kumar, secretary Youth Wing were also present on this occasion.
