JAMMU, Nov 13: Three-day capacity-building programme, titled “Professional Preparation of ECCE Educators in Primary Schools and their Continuous Professional Development (CPD) for Implementation of ECCE)”, organised by ECCE Department, Academic Unit-II, at the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), Jammu Division, concluded today.
The inaugural session featured a concept note presentation by Monika Dogra, who also served as the Programme Coordinator. Dr Sanjeevani, Unit Head (ECCE), shared insightful perspectives on the objectives and importance of the training, emphasising the professional preparedness required at the foundational stage.
In her inspiring address, Joint Director, SCERT, commended the initiative as a timely step towards strengthening Early Childhood Care and Education (ECCE) in alignment with the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and the National Curriculum Framework for Foundational Stage (NCF–FS 2022).
Spanning three days, the participants benefited from engaging sessions facilitated by eminent resource persons including, Jaswinder Kour, Sr Lecturer, SRML Hr Sec School; Shashi Bala, Incharge Middle School Lehnu; Geeta Bharti, Teacher Educator, DIET Rajouri, SCERT faculty members-. Neeraj Jamwal, Anil Sharma, Meena Thakur, Arsh Kour, Kamini Verma, Dr Rohini Sharma and Shazia Koser.
A total of 50 participants, comprising 40 primary school teachers and 10 representatives from the District Institutes of Education and Training (DIETs) across 10 districts of Jammu Division, took part in this comprehensive professional development programme. Vinod Bhatt, Associate Professor, provided overall supervision, while, Dr Sandarve, Anil Sharma, Shazia Kousar, Neeraj Jamwal, Rukhsana Gulbadan, Kamini Verma, Dr Jyoti Sudan, Dr Bhuvi, Meena Thakur, Sonika, Sana, Rakshanda and Wajida Tabassum efficiently managed their assigned roles.
The valedictory session marked an enriching conclusion, featuring participants’ reflections, feedback, and sharing of best practices. The session also highlighted the celebration of 150 years of the iconic song Vande Mataram. Certificates of participation were awarded to the attendees. A formal vote of thanks was presented by Kamini Verma, Sr Academic Officer.
