SAMBA, Nov 07: Samba police has seized a Mahindra load carrier loaded with Khair wooden logs and arrested two accused in the jurisdiction of Police Station (PS) Vijaypur.
Police said a team of PS Vijaypur during vehicle checking Naka at Gurah Morh Vijaypur, signalled to stop a Mahindra load carrier bearing Registration Number JK21J-8825 for its checking which was moving towards Vijaypur side. But the driver of the vehicle accelerated the speed and tried to escape from the spot. The alert Police Naka party successfully intercepted the vehicle and during checking, Khair wooden logs were found laden which were being transported illegally without any valid permission.
Police said the driver of the vehicle namely Usman Choudhary, son of Yousaf Hussain and his associate namely Injamam Choudhary son of Yousaf Hussain both resident of Badhori tehsil, Bari Brahmana district Samba have been arrested and the vehicle along with wooden logs have also been seized.
A case FIR No. 120/2025 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Vijaypur and started investigation, police said.
