‘Remove salary gap of MTS, provide 50% quota’

JAMMU, Nov 7: Jammu and Kashmir All Department Clerical Association (Ministerial Federation) claimed that their delegation led by State president Jeelani Naik, Provincial president Gurmeet Singh, vice president Ashish Sharma, Umar Jan Bhat and other senior members called on the Deputy Chief Minister Surinder Choudhary and submitted a detailed memorandum regarding the long-pending issues of the clerical cadre, particularly undue & excessive delay in holding the Departmental Promotion Committee (DPC) meeting for Secretariat Assistant Training Course (SATC) passed Junior Assistants, Senior Assistants and Head Assistants by Directorate of School Education, Jammu, Director Social Welfare department, Chief Engineer, R&B Jammu, Chief Engineer I&FC Department Jammu, Chief Engineer M&RE (PDD) Jammu, Kashmir.

Interacting with the media persons here today, Jeelani Naik said that the Deputy Chief Minister listened attentively to the delegation’s concerns and assured them of a prompt and time-bound resolution of their concerns and also issued directions to the concerned Head of departments to take appropriate and immediate action in this regard.
Subsequently, the Federation also met the Secretary of the School Education Department, who listened to their concerns and assured the delegation of a timely and effective resolution. During this meeting, the Secretary sought an immediate schedule for the DPC from the Directorate of School Education Jammu, which has accordingly been communicated back to him.
He said a grand felicitation ceremony was organized to honor the newly elected office bearers of MTS Union, which is a constituent of JKADCSA (Ministerial Federation). The newly elected leaders who will steer the forum towards progress are- Abu Howaida, president; Sanjay Kumar and Gourav Singh vice presidents; . Beenu Sharma general secretary; Deepak Raj Dayal – secretary, Bablu Sumbria- organizer, Sunil Kumar organizing secretary; Ram Paul- treasurer, Rahat Nazir Sheikh publicity secretary and Sheetal Singh- Cashier of the Union.
The new body demanded removal of pay disparity of MTS employees of UT J&K. They said there is significant salary gap between MTS employees in Central Government departments and those in UT of Jammu and Kashmir. MTS employees in Central Government departments enjoy Level-1 (18000-56900), whereas MTS employees in UT Jammu and Kashmir are put in the introductory pay grade SL-1 (Level 14800-47100). They also demanded 50% quota in promotion in feeding categories of Ministerial cadre.
