JAMMU, Nov 4: Former minister and National Conference (NC) additional general secretary, Ajay Kumar Sadhotra, today urged the people of Nagrota to vote for the NC candidate Begum Shamim, asserting that support to the party is support to inclusive development, sustainable peace and a dignified life for all residents, irrespective of region, religion or caste.
Addressing a series of public meetings at Marjali, Block Bhalwal, Khandwal and Thanu Block Mathwar, in connection with the upcoming Nagrota bye-election, Sadhotra said the present government led by Omar Abdullah is working towards strengthening infrastructural development and implementing people-centric policies. The meetings were organized by Raghubir Singh Manhas, district president, and block presidents Balwant Singh and Devender Singh.
Referring to the completion of one year of the current government, he cited the “bold initiatives” taken despite what he described as “dual governance challenges”. He said restoration of the Darbar Move practice shows that “with the support of people everything is achievable”, adding that the Government is committed to addressing the aspirations of all sections.
Former minister and zone president Babu Ram Pal appealed to voters to support Begum Shamim, describing a vote for NC as a vote for people-friendly policies under Chief Minister Omar Abdullah.
