JAMMU, Oct 30: The Gau Raksha Andolan has announced that a large-scale “Gau Mata Respect Demonstration” will be held in Jammu on November 3 to press the Government to accord holy cow the status of “National Mother” and “State Mother”, and to set up a Sanatan Board for the protection and welfare of cows.
Addressing a press conference in Jammu, Karnail Chand, Organization Minister of the Movement Kalki, said that for years the Hindu community has been demanding that Gau Mata be declared as the National Mother, but successive Governments have failed to take a decisive step in this direction.
“Even the present Government, which had promised during election campaigns to work for cow protection, has remained silent on this matter. Therefore, Movement Kalki and various other organizations have resolved to continue this struggle until the demand is fulfilled,” he said.
He added that for the past one year, the movement has been relentlessly working for this cause, and now, all organizations have decided to come together under one united banner – ‘Gau Raksha Andolan’, without using the name of any individual organization.
“The core committee of the movement has resolved to hold the demonstration on the first day of the Darbar Move, symbolizing their determination to bring attention to the issue,” he added and appealed to all Sanatanis, saints, and social activists to reach Indira Chowk at 9:30 AM on November 3 and participate in this `sacred’ cause.
The organizations associated with the movement also strongly condemned the Central Government’s decision to impose zero percent GST on cow meat, describing it as “shameful and deeply hurtful to the sentiments of crores of Sanatani Hindus.”
Yoga Guru Vijay Krishna Parashar, while addressing the press meet, extended full support to the Gau Raksha Andolan and raised concern over the growing instances of religious conversions in the country.
“Religious conversion has become a serious threat to the nation. The Government must enact a strict anti-conversion law (Dharm Parivartan Virodhi Kanoon) to check forced and deceitful conversions,” he said, citing a recent incident of conversion in Kathua district as “deeply disturbing.”
