RAJOURI, Oct 22: In a major boost to public infrastructure in Rajouri, MLA  Iftkhar Ahmed has announced the sanctioning of a modern slaughter house in Ward No. 7, near Bela bridge.
The project, approved with a budget of Rs 3.60 cr, addresses a long-standing demand of the local population and promises to significantly enhance public hygiene, waste management, and meat safety standards in the region.
Sharing the update on his official Facebook page, Iftkhar Ahmed said:
“My people, my priority. I am happy to share that the long-pending demand of people of Rajouri has been fulfilled. A modern slaughter house has been sanctioned with an amount of Rs 359.83 lakhs at Ward No. 7, near Bela Bridge Rajouri.”
“The tender will be floated shortly, and work will begin soon. This project will ensure better hygiene, proper waste management, and improved public health standards in our city,” he added.
Locals have welcomed the announcement, expressing relief at the prospect of a clean, regulated facility for meat processing. The project is expected to commence shortly after the tendering process is completed, marking a significant step toward modernizing the city’s public health infrastructure.
