SRINAGAR, Oct 17: Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) Alumni Association J&K in collaboration with Sir Syed Education Mission here today celebrated Sir Syed Day 2025 with zeal.
The event marked a heartfelt tribute to the founder of AMU, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan, whose legacy of enlightenment, rational thought and social reform continues to inspire generations.
The highlight of the celebration was the grand literary evening ‘Sham-e-Sukhan’ Mushaira, presided over by eminent poet Zulfiqar Naqvi. The Mushaira featured a rich line-up of noted poets including Anwar Khan, Ahtesham H. Mohtashim, Dr. Mubarak Lone, Ishrat Gul, Nazarat F. Khan, Masroofa Quadir and Ayaz A. Saif, who captivated the audience with their thought-provoking and soulful poetry. The anchoring of the Mushaira was done by Haroon Rathore.
Intellectuals and dignitaries who attended the event included G.N Itoo, Director School Education Kashmir; Parvaiz Iqbal, District & Sessions Judge Kulgam; Fozia Paul, District Judge Kulgam; Abul Rashid; Waseem Raja; Majid Jahangir and many others.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks.
