JAMMU, Oct 17: Seventy-one more dengue cases were reported across the Jammu division on Thursday, taking the total number of infections this year to 2,051.
As many as 543 tests were conducted on October 16. Of the new cases, 51 are males and 20 females, including 8 children and 63 adults. Jammu district reported highest 39 cases, raising its total to 893. Udhampur followed with 15 new cases, taking its cumulative tally to 249. Kathua recorded 7 cases, Samba 5 cases, Reasi 2 cases and Rajouri detected one case. Two cases were also reported from Other States/UTs.
So far, 19,703 dengue tests have been conducted this year-slightly lower than that recorded during the same period in 2024, whereas the total infections remain significantly lower than last year’s 3,345 cases.
Hospital data shows no new admissions today while nine patients are still under treatment in various hospitals.
Health officials have urged people to remain alert, prevent mosquito breeding, and adopt protective measures such as using repellents and keeping surroundings clean.
