Rly employee nabbed with liquor at Katra

REASI, Oct 15: The police arrested a Northern Railways employee along with illicit liquor in Katra area today.
A Police official saod one person identified as Sudhir Kumar, son of Satyadev Singh, working as a Technician in Northern Railways and resident of Shiswala, District Charkhi Dadri, Haryana, presently residing at Railway Colony, Katra, was apprehended today for possession of illicit alcohol.
Sudhir Kumar, riding his motorcycle (Registration No. HR19H 4746) was going from Panthal towards Katra. He was stopped at Searli Nakka for routine checking. During inspection, 7 bottles of alcohol (750 ml each) were recovered from a bag in his possession.
On this information, FIR No. 279/2025 under Section 223 BNS was registered at Police Station Katra and investigation was initiated. During interrogation, the accused disclosed that additional bottles of illicit alcohol were kept at his official Railway residence in Katra. Acting on his disclosure, police recovered 22 more bottles of alcohol (750 ml each) from his residence.
In total, 29 bottles of alcohol (750 ml each) have been seized. In view of this, further provisions under Section 48(a) of the Excise Act were added to the case. The investigation into the matter is going on.
The action was initiated under the supervision of SHO Katra, Khyatiman Khajuria under the close supervision of SDPO Katra Dr Bisham Dubey.
