JAMMU, Oct 15: Shiksha Niketan High School, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu, celebrated its 57th Annual Day-cum-Prize Distribution Function with grandeur and emotion at the prestigious Abhinav Theatre. Themed “Pride of India”, the event honoured the institution’s remarkable journey of educational excellence, heritage and holistic development.
Chief guests for the occasion were Ajay Sadhotra, Ex-Minister and Additional General Secretary, JKNC, and Rattan Lal Gupta, Provincial President, JKNC (Ex-MLC), joined by presiding guest Vijay Lochan, Chairman SC Cell Jammu Province. Guests of honour included Sheikh Bashir Ahmad (Ex-MLC), Rakesh Singh Bhau and Col. Muneesh Jasrotia of J&K Girls Battalion NCC.
Padma Shri Jitender Udhampuri, B.S. Billawaria, Sohail Kazmi and Rajesh Bakshi also graced the event. Principal Rameshwar Mengi, Trustee Rita Mengi, Directors Rakshan Mengi, Kashish Mengi and Risheek Mengi welcomed dignitaries.
Over Rs 3.13 lakh in merit cheques were distributed. Special awards were given to Kashish Sharma and Vanshika Sharma under poverty-cum-merit category in memory of Late Dev Dutt Mengi. Alumni Monika Gupta, Dr. Sonia Gupta, Dr. Jyoti Gupta Mehta and Er. Raghav Gupta donated cheques in memory of Sudesh Gupta.
