JAMMU, Oct 15: The Shri Ram Universal School, Jammu, under the aegis of Sahodaya Schools Complex, Jammu Chapter, organized an inter-school model-making competition titled “Shri Srijan – Turning Waste into Wonders”, centered on the theme “Unveiling Human Footprints Behind Floods.” The event aimed to raise environmental awareness and promote sustainable thinking among students.
Twelve reputed schools from the Jammu region showcased innovative eco-friendly models crafted from waste materials, highlighting the link between human actions and increasing flood disasters.
The competition was inaugurated with a welcome address by Principal Sonika Mahajan, followed by the chief guest Ekshu Sharma, District Information Officer & Assistant Director Handicrafts, Samba, who lauded the students’ creativity and awareness.
The models were evaluated by a panel of judges – Vikas Khajuria, National Sculptor and Namrita Sharma, Zonal Nodal Officer, Samba. Jammu Sanskriti School Kathua secured first position, followed by The Shri Ram Universal School and Jammu Sanskriti School Jammu. Consolation prizes went to APS Samba, APS Jammu Cantt and Indian Kidzee School, Kathua. The event concluded with a Vote of Thanks by Shivani Vaid, Headmistress.
