Welfare camp for vehicle operators organised

RAJOURI, Oct 15: On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Rajouri, Abhishek Sharma, and Transport Commissioner, Visheshpaul Mahajan, the Transport Department Rajouri, in collaboration with J&K Bank, Gujjar Market Branch Rajouri, today organized a welfare initiative for commercial vehicle operators at Bella Bus Stand, Rajouri.
The initiative aimed to extend essential welfare services, including insurance enrolment programs, financial literacy, and awareness on the Nasha Mukat Abhiyan among drivers and transport workers.
A dedicated camp was established at the bus stand to facilitate insurance renewals, provide guidance on social security schemes, and promote awareness regarding the ill effects of substance abuse and the importance of a drug-free life for road safety.
Speaking on the occasion, ARTO Rajouri, Rajesh Gupta, highlighted that the department is committed to the welfare and safety of transport workers. He said that such initiatives not only ensure financial security for drivers and operators but also play a significant role in spreading awareness about responsible driving and healthy living.
He further informed that the department, under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner and Transport Commissioner, will continue to organize similar outreach programs across the district to cover all categories of commercial vehicle operators.
Officials from J&K Bank and the Transport Department interacted with participants and urged them to avail the benefits of various schemes designed for their social and economic upliftment.
