BISHNAH Oct 14: In a major push for grassroots development and healthcare infrastructure, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Bhagat, MLA Bishnah, today kicked off a series of development works amounting to a total outlay of 1.64 cr across his constituency.
The day’s events were marked by the inauguration of a vital healthcare facility and the commencement of numerous village-level projects, underscoring his commitment to decentralized planning and public welfare.
The highlight of the initiative was the formal inauguration of the Block Public Health Unit at Primary Health Centre, Arnia. constructed at a cost of ¹ 70.00 lakh, the new unit is a significant step under the Central Government’s flagship Pradhan Mantri Ayushman Bharat Health Infrastructure Mission (PM-ABHIM).
Addressing the gathering, Dr. Rajeev Kumar Bhagat, emphasized the transformative potential of the BPHU. “This Block Public Health Unit is more than just a building; it is a critical hub designed to revolutionize healthcare accessibility for the people of Arnia and its surrounding areas,” Dr. Bhagat stated. “As a referral centre, it will strengthen the entire health system, ensuring that quality and comprehensive primary healthcare, including diagnostics and advanced services, are available closer to home, thereby reducing the burden on district hospitals.”
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Ghanshyam Singh, Block Medical Officer, Bishnah, Dr. Rohit Kumar and the dedicated staff of PHC Arnia, signifying the commitment of the health department to the new facility.
Following the inauguration, the MLA proceeded to kick-start 51 new developmental works across three key Panchayats—Kiryal, Kathar, and Allah. These projects, aimed at bolstering local infrastructure, were approved under various decentralized schemes, including the PRI, BDC, DDC, and SSY Schemes, which ensure funds are directed by elected local representatives.
In a detailed breakdown of the works Panchayat Kiryal saw the commencement of 19 works with an outlay of 38.19 lakh. Panchayat Kathar initiated 15 works amounting to ¹ 21.16 lakh and Panchayat Allah launched 17 works totaling ¹ 34.99 lakh.
Dr. Bhagat was accompanied by Dr.Bipluv Sudan, Block Development Officer, Arnia along with his dedicated team of field machinery and engineering wing.
