JAMMU, Oct 13: A gardener was injured after he was assaulted with a sharp weapon by a group of men at Hari Singh Park near Jewel area here today.
Police have taken cognisance of the matter by registering an FIR under the relevant sections of the law at Police Station Peer Mittha and arrested one of the assailants.
As per police sources, three individuals from Uttar Pradesh, including the gardener, identified as Raj Kumar son of Agya Ram, currently residing at Gole Pulli, Tallab Tillo, Jammu, were resting in the park, when some unidentified men confronted them, claiming the latter were recording their videos without consent.
When the trio objected to their claim, they said, one of the assailants attacked the gardener with a sharp weapon, leaving him in a pool of blood.
He was immediately taken to Government Medical College Jammu, where he is currently responding to the treatment, police sources said.
Meanwhile, police have launched a manhunt to arrest the absconding assailants.
