JAMMU, Oct 12: Sanjita Dogra, general secretary Jammu & Kashmir Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and in-charge of the State Headquarters, hoisted the Flag on the auspicious occasion of the 40th Annual Flag Festival held at the premises of Jai Shri Krishna Temple located in the Sabzi Mandi area of Janipur.
She was accompanied in the flag hoisting ceremony by Mahatma Shri Abhiraj Shastri Ji, Sevak Sanjeev Bhau, Nareshwar Singh, Aakash Singh Salathia, Dhanush Singh, Harsh Mahajan, Kannu Ji, and Anku Ji.
In this religious and cultural event, she also participated in the ritual worship (Dev Pooja) and later addressed the religious gathering (Dharma Sabha).
On this sacred occasion, the temple premises were seen immersed in devotion and joy. The sweet sounds of traditional musical instruments and the chants of ‘Jai Shri Krishna’ by devotees filled the atmosphere with spiritual energy.
Speaking on the occasion after the flag hoisting, Sanjita Dogra said that the ‘Flag Festival’ organized by the Jai Shri Krishna Temple is not just a religious ritual, but a symbol of our cultural heritage, unity, and faith. Maintaining this tradition for 40 years is truly commendable. It strengthens religious awareness and social harmony in society.
She extended heartfelt congratulations to the office bearers of the Temple Committee for this grand event and said that their dedication and spirit of service make this temple not just a place of worship but a center of cultural values.
A large number of local residents, women, youth, and children participated in the event. The celebrations included devotional singing (bhajan-kirtan), religious storytelling (Katha Vachan), and a collective prayer (Aarti).
The Head and other members of the Temple Committee welcomed Sanjita Dogra, expressed their gratitude, and assured that the temple will continue to work towards its objectives of social service and religious outreach.
This ‘Flag Festival’ not only showcased a confluence of devotion and tradition but also provided a new direction for mutual harmony, cooperation, and religious awareness among various sections of society.
Sharda Bhau (DDC Member), Vipna Manhas, Vaishno Devi, Suman Raina, Santosh Sharma, and Rita Verma were also present on the occasion.
