JAMMU, Oct 12: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Pacca Danga area have detained a hardcore criminal under the stringent Public Safety Act (PSA) and lodged him in District Jail Udhampur.

Shubham Gill alias Maya of Dogra Hall, Jammu, was wanted for his involvement in several criminal cases, including a recently registered attempt to murder case, a police official said.
According to him, a detention warrant under PSA was also issued against the accused by the District Magistrate Jammu.
The warrant got executed today with the detention of the accused by a team of Police Station Pacca Danga led by Inspector Rakesh Mani, SHO concerned, under the supervision of SDPO City North and SP City North, he said.
The police official said the detenue was medically examined as per the legal procedure at a Government hospital before being lodged in District Jail Udhampur.
