UDHAMPUR, Oct 9: In separate cases, Police Station Rehambal arrested two drug peddlers and recovered 8.78 grams of heroin from their possession.
During routine traffic naka at Phalata on the NHW Rehambal, one vehicle bearing registration number JK13H-8014 coming from Tikri side towards Garhi side was signalled to stop. During personal search of the driver, identified as Amir Bashir Bhat, son of Bashir Ahmed Bhat, resident of Haripura, Kulgam, 3.52 gms of heroin like substance was recovered from his possession.
In this regard, case FIR number 161/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Rehambal and the accused has been arrested.
In another success during the same naka, one person moving on foot from Tikri side towards Garhi side, attempted to hide himself which created suspicion. On being apprehended, the said person, disclosed his identity as Sahil Singh son of Mohan Singh of Mand, Udhampur. During his personal search, 5.26 gms of heroin like substance was recovered.
Accordingly, he was arrested and a case FIR number 160/2025 U/S 8/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at PS Rehambal.
Further investigation in both the cases is going on under the supervision of SHO Rehambal, Parshotam Kumar.
