JAMMU, Oct 9: Showing their total concern over the Government’s apathy towards the inmates of Jagti township, the Kashmiri Migrant Welfare Movement (KMWM) today held a protest against the water crisis.
The protest was led by chairman of the Front Sunil Pandita and its other office bearers Ashok Dhar, Suresh Suri and RakeshSuri and others also participated in it. They said for last 10 days the inmates of Jagti tenements are facing acute water scarcity. They said the problem is routine affair especially during Monsoon rains and Winter rains when the water supply scheme to the township gets blocked due to silt and hampers the supply to the area.
They said despite repeated pleas over last 10 years the authorities have not taken any positive step to solve the problem putting inmates of the township to grave hardships. They alleged that the work on bore wells is also going at snail’s pace and it has been a cause of concern among the inmates of Jagti.
In an appeal to Government they demanded that the problem be solved without any delay failing which the inmates of the township will be forced to intensify the struggle.
