RAJOURI, Oct 9: The Geology and Mining Department of Jammu & Kashmir has suspended Sunil Mitter, MTS (Class IV employee), deployed in the office of the District Mineral Officer, Rajouri, for allegedly misusing social media to post content against the Government of Jammu & Kashmir.
An official order issued by Director Geology & Mining cited under Rule 18 of the J&K Government Employees (Conduct) Rules, 1971, stated that Mitter has violated instructions and circulars issued by the Government regarding the appropriate use of social media. He has been attached to the office of the District Mineral Officer, Rajouri, with immediate effect pending inquiry.
Dr Raj Kumar, Deputy Director (MI&GW), has been appointed as Inquiry Officer. The officer has been directed to conduct a detailed inquiry into the conduct of the official and submit a report with findings and recommendations within one week.
