RAMBAN, Oct 9: Deputy Commissioner Ramban Mohammad Alyas Khan today chaired a meeting of Revenue Officers to review the progress of the Digitization of Land Records and implementation of the SVAMITVA Scheme in the district.
The meeting was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner Varunjeet Singh Charak; Assistant Commissioner Revenue Shokat Hayat Mattoo; SDM Gool Imtiaz Ahmed; SDM Banihal Mohammad Naseeb Bajraan, Tehsildars and other officials of the Revenue Department.
The Deputy Commissioner took a detailed review of the ongoing digitization work, including data entry of digitized Jamabandis, completion of Khasras and Khatas, village-wise updates on ground truthing of maps and updation of sub-parcels in the mother map.
He also reviewed the progress of the SVAMITVA Scheme, which aims to provide property cards to rural households through drone-based surveys and mapping.
The DC directed all Tehsildars to expedite the digitization process and clear pending records within a stipulated time frame.
He emphasized the importance of accuracy, transparency and timely completion of all activities to ensure reliable and accessible land records.
Highlighting the significance of efficiency and accountability, the DC said that timely completion of the digitization process; accurate record management and effective implementation of land-related schemes are crucial for good governance and improved public service delivery.
