Samba, Oct 8: Panic gripped the Chak Manga Rakwal area of Samba after the body of a migrant labourer was found hanging from a tree under suspicious circumstances, here today.
According to reports, a local resident spotted a man hanging from a tree and immediately informed the police.
A police team along with forensic experts rushed to the spot, collected samples from the scene and shifted the body to the DH Samba for post-mortem examination.
The deceased has been identified as Shankar Ahwair (29), S/o Nathu Ahwair, R/o Madhya Pradesh.
He had been residing in Chak Manga Rakwal, Samba and was working as a labourer.
Police have taken cognizance of the matter and initiated an investigation to ascertain the cause of death.
