JAMMU, Oct 8: Confederation of Industries and Commerce, J&K today projected the burning issues of the local industrialists and alleged that lndustries and Commerce Dept has failed to ensure proper development of Industrial Sector in the Jammu and Kashmir.
Talking to media persons here today Rakesh Sharma, president of CIC J&K, highlighted the issues of the industrial sector and pointed out that SIDCO, a wing of the l&C Department was once considered as a backbone of establishment of new industries and also for the existing industrial growth in Jammu, now has totally failed in promoting industrial spirit within local entrepreneurs. Local entrepreneurs who had been allotted lands in Balol Estate Bari Brahmana 7 years back are yet to start their units for the want of a simple renewal of EM Part 1 which is a departmental process.
Sharma said the department is continuously issuing EM Part 1 registrations to other new entrepreneurs who have projected to invest crores of rupees in their units. But the department does not pay any heed in solving the pending issues of Balol Estate entrepreneurs. Similarly in the year 2022 the same department invited applications for IE Meen Charakan, again some local entrepreneurs invested their hard earned money to purchase industrial plots to start their units, after taking land premiums the department issued a statement that they cannot provide the lands against which they have taken premiums and the entrepreneurs need to be shifted to other locations and if the entrepreneur wants to take a refund some amount is deducted and the rest is being given to them.
He further said that the responsibility should be fixed for this irrecoverable loss of precious time and hard-earned money. The entrepreneurs should be compensated for this act of negligence by the SIDCO l&C Department. Now, question arises that, the hard eared money is being siphoned off from these entrepreneurs and is being filled in the Govt coffers. Lands are being cleared for the outside industries on day and night basis and are being facilitated on each and every step and on the other hand for the local entrepreneur, the department and the government even fails to acknowledge their plight. The Govt has developed a callous attitude towards the local entrepreneurs.
