JAMMU, Oct 7: Police in Jammu have arrested a car driver after a video went viral showing his vehicle blocking an ambulance on its way to Narayana Hospital in the Nagrota area.
The incident, which occurred on Sunday night, drew sharp public criticism on social media. Acting on the footage, Police Station Nagrota registered FIR Number 209/2025 under Sections 126(2) BNS, 194-E, and 184 of the Motor Vehicles Act.
The Baleno car, bearing registration number JK02BP-2401, was seized, and the driver, identified as Gokul, son of Anil Sharma of Sarwal, was taken into custody.
Police said such reckless behavior endangering lives will be dealt with sternly to ensure free movement of emergency vehicles.
