JAMMU, Oct 6: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) on Monday carried out a major demolition drive against illegal constructions in various parts of the city.
The operation was conducted on the directions of Commissioner Dr Devansh Yadav, under the supervision of Joint Commissioner (R&E) Subah Mehta and Deputy Commissioner (South) Lal Chand.
During the drive, the enforcement team of JMC demolished two unauthorized building structures at Upper Jallo Chak, Greater Kailash, Ward Number 68, which had been raised without prior approval from JMC. Another illegal structure was also demolished in the Bantalab area.
Officials said the action was part of JMC’s ongoing efforts to ensure planned and lawful urban development and curb violations of building bylaws. The Corporation urged residents to seek proper permissions before initiating any construction.
Enforcement officers, inspectors, and other field staff were present during the drive.
