JAMMU, Oct 4: Haryana Pradeshik Laghu Katha Manch, under the aegis of the Haryana Pradeshik Hindi Sahitya Sammelan, Sirsa, organized its All India Mini Story Conference which saw the participation of renowned mini story writers from Rajasthan, Punjab, Maharashtra, Bihar, Madhya Pradesh, and Haryana.
Presided over by social worker Lalit Mohan, the conference had Dr Ramkumar Ghotad, senior mini story writer from Rajasthan, as the chief guest, with Pawan Kumar Gupta and Prof (Dr) Richa Sharma as special guests. Prof Roop Devgun, chief coordinator of the Manch, welcomed the guests and highlighted the forum’s literary journey.
On the occasion, several significant mini story collections were released, including ‘Nau-Ratni Mini Stories’—Dogri translations of Dr Ghotad’s Hindi stories by noted Dogri writer Yashpaul Nirmal. Other releases included works by Yograj Prabhakar, Pratap Singh Sodhi, Shaifalika Srivastava, Dr Richa Sharma, and others.
A thought-provoking discussion followed on the challenges and scope of the modern mini story. Scholars emphasized that despite contemporary challenges, the genre’s brevity, precision, and expressive power continues to make it relevant.
