JU hosts Inter-Collegiate Shooting, Cricket tourney’s

JAMMU, Oct 3: The Directorate of Sports and Physical Education, University of Jammu, organized the Inter-Collegiate Shooting (Men) Championship 2025-26 at Aim 10x Shooting Academy, Talab Tillo, Jammu.
The event saw active participation from shooters of various affiliated colleges in the 10m Air Pistol (Men) category. Vibhav Sharma from GCET Jammu clinched the gold medal, followed by Mahim Satti of Jammu College of Physiotherapy who secured silver and Samarvir Singh from GDC Marh who won the bronze medal. The competition was smoothly conducted under the supervision of technical experts Tarun Singh Jamwal and Padam Dev Singh.
Meanwhile, the ongoing Inter-Collegiate Cricket (Men) Tournament 2025-26 is being held at the University Cricket Ground. In the first match, PG (Arts), University of Jammu, defeated PHL College by 157 runs. PG (Arts) scored 237/7 in 20 overs with standout performances from Pankaj (78), Govind (68), and Nikhil (54). Ratib and Sahil Khan took 3 wickets each for PHL College. In response, PHL were bowled out for 80 runs in 13 overs, with Dar Majid (25) and Ratib (18) being the top scorers. Vikshay claimed 4 wickets, Princei 3 and Govind 2 for PG (Arts). In the second match, MIET overpowered GDC Ramgarh by 10 wickets. GDC Ramgarh were all out for 39 runs, with Ujwala scoring 14. MIET’s Utkarsh took 4 wickets, while Nishant Singh and Mood Amir took 2 each. MIET chased the target in just 1.5 overs, with Charukash scoring 22 and Aditya 12.
