SRINAGAR, Oct 2: Police today attached the property of a terrorist handler in Palpora village of Kralgund in north Kashmir’s Handwara area as part of ongoing efforts against the region’s terrorist ecosystem.

A police spokesperson said the action followed an investigation into FIR No. 73/2011 of Police Station Kralgund. “During the course of the investigation, it was established that Nazir Ahmad Ganai, a resident of Palpora in Kralgund, currently operating from PoJK, is actively involved in guiding and handling terrorist activities in Handwara,” the spokesperson said.
The spokesperson added that, in accordance with legal provisions, proceedings to attach his property were initiated. “After obtaining the necessary sanctions from the competent authority, the land belonging to Nazir Ahmad Ganai in Palpora was attached in the presence of police and revenue officials,” he said. He added, “This action highlights the commitment of Handwara Police to deal firmly with terrorist handlers and anti-national elements.”
The spokesperson said that such measures aim to dismantle the support structures of terrorist outfits, deter others from unlawful activities, and strengthen peace and order in the district.
The police also appealed to local communities to cooperate in maintaining peace. “Members of the public are urged not to provide aid or assistance to entities that threaten national security and integrity, as strict legal action will follow against individuals involved in such activities,” the spokesperson said.
