Op Sindoor too victory of good over evil: Dr Jitendra

JAMMU, Oct 2: Like other parts of the country, Dussehra festival marking the victory of good over evil was celebrated with much religious fanfare and enthusiasm across J&K today.

In Jammu, a grand function was held at historic Parade Ground were the effigies of demon King Ravan, his brother, Kumbkaran son Meghnath and Lanka were torched to flames by the crowd. Union Minister in PMO with independent charge of Science and Technology, Dr Jitendra Singh was the chief guest on the occasion. Thousands of spectators drawn from different parts of the Jammu region thronged the Parade Ground to witness the torching of effigies.
The function was organized by Sanatan Dharam Sabha (SDS) Jammu in collaboration with Dharmarth Trust.
The Dusshera Parv event was also attended by various officials and leaders and eminent members of civil society.
Earlier to mark the auspicious occasion of Vijay Dashmi, a grandiose Shobha Yatra was taken out from the historical Shri Raghunathji Temple here.
On the occasion, Martand Singh, Trustee of J&K Dharmarth Trust and MLA Yudhvir Sethi presided over the Murti Poojan at Shri Raghunath Ji Temple. Thereafter, Rath Poojan and Dhwajarohan ceremonies were performed. Dr. P.S. Pathania, president of the Trust, Ashok Kumar Sharma, secretary and Anil Masoom, ex corporator were also present.
This Shobha Yatra was organised by Sanatan Dharam Sabha in collaboration with J&K Dharmarth Trust.
The Yatra commenced from Shri Raghunathji Temple and passed through Hari Market, Raghunath Bazaar, City Chowk, Shalamar, Ranbireshwar Temple and finally culminated at Parade Ground, Jammu.
Martand Singh, in his message, felicitated people on the auspicious occasion of Vijay Dashmi and prayed that this sacred festival may bring peace, prosperity and happiness in Jammu and Kashmir.
Tight security arrangements were ensured by the UT administration across the city for the smooth conduct of Dussehra celebrations.
A heavy rush of devotees was witnessed at the historical Raghunath Ji Temple, where people stood in long queues to participate in the Pooja and other holy rituals, making the atmosphere festive and spiritually vibrant.
Another Shoba Yatra was taken out by Sanatan Dharam Natak Samaj led by its chairman and MLA Jammu East, Yudhvir Sethi.
Dussehra celebrations were held by Sanatan Dharma Samiti Nagrota at Dussehra ground with devotion zeal and cultural fervour. Pawan Kumar Shastri president Jammu Yatri Bhawan was the chief guest on the occasion while SDPO Nagrota Vinod Kundal was the special guest. Pawan Kumar Shastri threw light on the message that Dussehra celebrations convey to mankind.
Dussehra was also celebrated at different places in Samba district where effigies of demon king and his son and brother were torched. A large number of people witnessed the celebrations.
Dussehra was celebrated in Kathua, Udhampur, Ramban, Doda, Reasi, Kishtwar, Rajouri, Poonch and other towns of Jammu region with great enthusiasm.
Reports of Dussehra celebration have come from Srinagar also where a large number of devotees people attended the function and witnessed torching the effigies of Ravan, Kumbkaran and Meghnath.
Dr Jitendra Singh, while addressing the function said that if Dusshera is the festival that symbolises the victory of good over evil , “Operation Sindoor” is the best contemporary example of the victory of India’s good intentions over Pakistan’s evil designs.
Dr Jitendra Singh said , incidentally today’s festivity marks triple celebration, that of Dussehra symbolising courage (Sahas) against evil, Gandhi Jayanti symbolising the supreme power of truth (Satya) and 100 years commemoration of the RSS symbolising service with effacement (Samarpan). In a single sentence “Sahas, Satya , Samarpan “define this year’s Vijayadashami.
The Minister said that this year Dusshera coincides with Gandhi Jayanti that together inspires us to follow the path of righteousness and truth for defeating evil and unjust forces.
Dr Jitendra Singh, while commemorating 100 years of establishment of RSS said that the organisation stands for the values of devotion , courage and nationalism that are also the values represented by the pious festival of Dusshera.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that due to Operation Sindoor, the world was witness to the strong and courageous leadership of India that is unprecedented on the national and international stage.
While referring to Operation Sindoor, Dr Jitendra Singh said that the operation not only depicted the courage and moral strength of PM, Narendra Modi , but also showed the word his acumen and statesmanship and the strength of his diplomatic astuteness .
The Minister, while expressing gratitude for the sacrifices made by our soldiers, said “we are able to celebrate our festivals because the soldiers continue to defend our borders day and night”.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that Jammu and Kashmir was witness to supreme sacrifice made by Syama Prasad Mukherjee and said that the fire of nationalism that he ignited continues to remain alive in the hearts and minds of people of this region.
While referring to the 100 years of RSS , Dr Jitendra Singh said that the organisation has worked selflessly without any expectation , recognition and or political agenda for years and the courage and perseverance of the workers of RSS that has kept it alive for over a century .
Dr Singh lashed out at a certain section of leaders who for political opportunism had earlier said that after abrogation of article 370 no national flags would be seen in J&K. He said that the nationalism of the people of J&K will persist for generations and this is the legacy of people of Jammu and the selfless workers of RSS that is an inspiration to the rest of the nation.
Dr Jitendra Singh said that country with the dynamic and visionary leadership that it has today, is writing the story of New India that will soon be emulated by the rest of the countries of the world.
While referring to Shubhanshu Shukla who returned from his landmark mission from ISS recently, Dr Jitendra Singh said that the experiments in health, agriculture, etc., carried out by him and his team would benefit the whole mankind in the true spirit of ‘Vishwabandhu Bharat’ and not just India. He said that while earlier we had to visit other countries for better medical facilities, now India is increasingly becoming a hub of medical tourism. This depicts that India is becoming self reliance. He further said India became the 4th largest economy from earlier rank of 11th in 2014 that is a testament to the commitment to ‘Sankalp se Sidhi’ goal of the Modi Government.
Dr Jitendra Singh further added that the regions like Jammu & Kashmir that have untapped potential with its vast mountains and rivers will play an important role in providing the economic boost through value addition and technological development.
He urged people to follow the path of Dharma and set that dedication to goal is not possible without Dharma towards once duties.
Speaking on the occasion, BJP UT president, Sat Sharma congratulated the people and asked the people to fight the evil within and outside. He said “ Evil forces still prevail in this world and we have to take a pledge to eliminate such forces who are enemies of mankind and threat to humanity and brotherhood’’.
