Police seizes tippers for illegal mining

SRINAGAR, Oct 2: In continuation of its drive against illegal mining, police today seized two tippers engaged in illegal excavation and transportation of minerals in Khrew area of Pampore.
A police spokesperson said a team from Police Station Khrew, led by the Station House Officer (SHO), seized two vehicles bearing registration numbers JK08C-8815 and JK03H-8035 for their involvement in illegal mining activities. “Accordingly, a case has been registered under FIR No. 74/2025 at Police Station Khrew under relevant sections of law, and further investigation has been initiated,” the spokesperson said.
He added that police reiterate their commitment to act strictly against those involved in illegal mining, which not only causes environmental degradation but also affects public resources.
