JAMMU, Sept 30: Students of MAM College and activists of ABVP today staged a protest demonstration against unprecedented delay in engaging temporary faculty on Academic Arrangement.
The protesting students raised slogans against Director Colleges and the Higher Education authorities. They were demanding immediate filling up faculty positions on Academic Arrangement for the current session.
While addressing the gathering, leaders of the protesting students expressed serious concern over not engaging Academic Arrangement, which is resulting into loss of studies.
“Even after more than two months since commencement of the new session and classes, Academic Arrangements are not being made to meet the requirement of faculty members on temporary basis for the reasons best known to the concerned authorities,” they said and warned to intensify protest if no action is taken.
Similar protest was held at GGM Science College.
Pertinent to mention that Academic Arrangements on temporary basis are made every year as the colleges have been facing shortage of permanent faculty members. However, no such Academic Arrangement has been initiated this year till day.
