JAMMU, Aug 6: Additional Sessions Judge Anticorruption Jammu, Sanjay Parihar acquitted Vachiter Singh, PDD lineman, who was caught red handed by the Vigilance Organization while accepting bribe of Rs 2000, as Vigilance failed to prove its case.
According to the Vigilance case, on June 1, 2009 one Hans Raj, son of Tara Chand of Jhajjar Kotli, lodged a written complaint in Police Station Vigilance Organization Jammu alleging therein that the lineman was demanding Rs 2000 as bribe for not disconnecting complainant’s electricity connection.
Accordingly a trap team was constituted and the accused lineman was caught red handed while accepting bribe of Rs 2000 from the complainant. After completion of investigation challan was presented in the court of law.
After hearing both the sides, Additional Sessions Judge, Anticorruption Court, Sanjay Parihar observed that prosecution has miserably failed to prove its case as such the lineman was acquitted of the charges.
