JAMMU, Sept 27: A youth drowned after accidentally slipping into a water-filled ditch at Panjgrain, Mula Chak area under the jurisdiction of Police Station Arnia here today.
Police said Sourav Kumar of Magowali, Tehsil Suchetgarh, along with his father Balwant Raj, was on his way to farmland when he fell into the ditch.

“As neither of them knew swimming, they cried for help. Some villagers rushed to the spot and shifted Sourav to a hospital in Bishnah, where doctors declared him brought dead,” they said.
According to police, the body of the deceased has been handed over to family members after completion of legal formalities.
