UDHAMPUR, Sept 26: Police foiled three separate attempts of bovine smuggling and rescued 13 bovine animals.
Police team of Police Station Ramnagar intercepted a load carrier JK14L-3572. Sensing trouble, driver fled away after leaving his vehicle while co-driver Sanjeev Singh alias Kaka, son of Thakur Das, resident of Bari was apprehended.
Seven bovine animals were rescued from the load carrier. Police seized the vehicle and registered a case FIR No. 146/2025 U/S 223 BNS, 325 BNS, 11 PCA Act at PS Ramnagar.
During naka checking at Motor Shed NHW Chenani, a Tata Mobile JK02BB-3061 was abandoned by its driver and two bovines were found loaded cruelly in the vehicle. Bovines were rescued and case FIR No. 93/2025 U/S 223 BNS, 11 PCA Act has been registered in this connection at PS Chenani.
On reliable input, case FIR No. 344/2025 U/S 223(a) BNS, 11 PCA Act was registered against Anil Kumar and Joginder Kumar for transporting four bovines illegally in Auto (Load Carrier) JK14H-8234 from Ghordi towards Kashmir, which was intercepted at Jakhani naka point. Further investigations of the cases are underway.
