JAMMU, Sept 24: As Basohli Festival kicked off, Principal Secretary Culture B M Sharma inaugurated Miniature painting workshop conducted jointly by Lalit Kala Academy and Vishwasthali organization at Basohli today. Artists from Rajasthan, West Bengal, Himachal and JKUT are participating in it.
This will conclude on September 30. Venugopal from LKA was present to coordinate the workshop.
In the evening Nukkad Natak by Natrang group was staged on the theme of ‘My heritage my pride’.
Purushni (Ravi) arti was held in a grand way on Atal Sethu. Thousands of people witnessed it. Mantras by Gurukul Batuk and Arti by JNV school students mesmerised the devotees. This was attended by local MLA Darshan Singh and Principal Secy B M Sharma and Director IGNCA Shruti Awasthi.
Arti was followed by a procession to carry Aarti deep to Ramleela ground where it was received by Ramleela club executive body headed by Chandrashekhar Basotra, Sudarshan Chauhan and others. Immediately after its receipt, the Hanuman Flag was worshipped and Ramleela started.
