UDHAMPUR, Sept 23: Police detained a drug peddler from Tikri area and recovered a large quantity of Psychotropic tablets from his possession, here today.
Reports said that police team of PP Tikri, while performing a routine checking at Tikri naka point, intercepted a vehicle bearing registration number JK14L-2453.
During personal search of the driver, 108 tablets of Buprenorphine were recovered from his possession. The driver, identified as Veer Singh alias Veeru, son of Chain Singh, resident of Samole, Udhampur, could not provide any valid justification for possession of the drugs following which Police immediately took him into custody.
The Assistant Drug Controller, Udhampur, has been informed about the recovery for further necessary action in this regard.
