JAMMU, Sept 22: Jammu Police successfully intercepted a bovine smuggling attempt in the Bishnah area, rescuing nine animals during the operation.
Officials said the accused were transporting the animals on foot in a cruel and inhumane manner, without obtaining the required District Magistrate’s permission. Two individuals, identified as Masoom Ali son of Nizam Din and Liaqat Ali son of Abdul Ghani, were arrested on the spot.
A case was registered under FIR Number 105/2025 at Police Station Bishnah under Section 223 BNS/11 of the PCA Act. Police confirmed that further investigation into the matter is ongoing.
