SRINAGAR, Sept 21: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) National Executive Member, Ravinder Raina today said that the movement of fruit-laden trucks on the Srinagar-Jammu National Highway is being ensured on priority.
Speaking to reporters after visiting the Jablipora fruit mandi in Anantnag, Raina said the damaged patch of the highway at Udhampur has been repaired and truck movement has resumed.
“On priority, fruit trucks are being allowed. Cargo trains are in place, and the Mughal road has also been kept open for fruit trucks,” he said.

He cautioned against politicising the hardships faced by fruit growers and traders.
“People have been left with nothing. At this time, there should be no politics. Those working under a political agenda must be identified. Take care of those who have genuinely reached out to help you,” he said, adding that India “stands with the people of Kashmir and loves Kashmiris.”
Meanwhile, MLA Bijbehara, Dr. Bashir Ahmad Veeri, also today visited the Jablipora fruit mandi, assuring the traders, growers of seamless transportation of apples and fair pricing.
Accompanied by officials and a fleet of J&K Road Transport Corporation (JKRTC) trucks, Dr. Veeri assured growers that their produce would be transported efficiently to mandis across the country.
The move follows concerns raised by the local horticulture community over logistical hurdles and delays in market access.
