BISHNAH, Sept 21: AICC secretary and co-incharge of organization, Neeraj Kundan, visited the border village of Kathar today, reinforcing the Congress party’s commitment to tackling drug abuse and empowering youth. The visit aimed to address pressing social challenges in remote areas while promoting education and sports as pathways to progress.
Interacting with Kathar’s youth at the community centre, Kundan led an impactful discussion on the devastating effects of drug abuse. He highlighted its toll on health, families, and futures, urging collective action against this growing menace.
“Drugs are a silent enemy that rob our youth of their potential. They destroy dreams, weaken bodies, and tear communities apart. I urge Kathar’s youth to reject this trap and embrace a brighter, drug-free future. Together, we can build a stronger Jammu & Kashmir,” Kundan said.
He also addressed the pressing issue of unemployment, emphasizing its severe impact on the rural population in border areas, particularly due to the Agniveer scheme and reduced recruitment in the Army and paramilitary forces. He noted that these policies have limited opportunities for local youth, exacerbating economic challenges in the region. Assuring the youth of the Congress party’s support, Kundan stated, “Support Congress, and we will work tirelessly to fulfill your aspirations once in power, ensuring better job opportunities and a secure future for all.”
Neeraj’s visit underscores the party’s resolve to combat drug abuse and uplift marginalized communities. Prominent attendees included Roop Lal Bhagat, Gara Ram, Chaman Lal, Mukesh, and other villagers, who lauded Kundan’s dedication. Local leader Gara Ram noted, “This visit brings hope and direction to our youth.”
