Udhampur constituency to receive highest PMGSY funds under Phase 4

JAMMU, Sept 21: Government of India has approved Rs 1955.65 crore for Udhampur -Doda Parliamentary constituency under PMGSY –IV Batch 1 (2025-26) to provide road connectivity to 178 habitations in the constituency.
This was stated by Union Rural Development and Agriculture & Farmers Welfare Minister, Shivraj Singh Chouhan in a letter to Union Minister in PMO, Dr Jitendra Singh who represents the Parliamentary constituency.
The letter further said that the Government of India has approved 110 road works covering 751.44 kms in the constituency under PMGSY for the year 2025-26.
The Minister further said that these roads will not only strengthen the infrastructure in rural areas but also contribute significantly to the socio economic development of the region. For the successful implementation, it is essential that construction proceeds swiftly and that quality is ensured effectively, so that the public can benefit from these roads for a long time.
The Minister urged the Dr Jitendra Singh to ensure as the public representative that these road projects are completed on time without compromising on quality.
Meanwhile, Dr Jitendra Singh complimented Shivraj Singh Chouhan for liberally approving 110 road work in his Parliamentary constituency at an estimated cost of Rs 2000 crore under PMGSY with the promise of more to come.
Dr Jitendra Singh said this will provide road connectivity and ease of travel over 178 habitations.
He said ever since PM Narendra Modi took over in 2014, this constituency which had been continuously ignored for several decades by the earlier Governments, has received high priority and district Udhampur has consistently ranked among the first three top districts of the country as far as PMGSY road projects are concerned.
