JAMMU, Sept 19: Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) Workers Union here today staged a protest demonstration demanding treatment at par with the employees of Srinagar Municipal Corporation (SMC). The protest was led by the Union president, Rinku Gill and the protesters raised slogans in favour of their demands.
Addressing the protesters, Gill said that NGO system for hiring the workers in JMC should be stopped as there is no such system in SMC.
He also demanded increasing the number of permanent posts in JMC making the same at par with SMC and regularising of all the contractual and other non-permanent employees in JMC who have completed a certain period of time in their services.
Gill urged the authorities concerned to concede their demands as soon as possible.
