Bakaya highlights spiritual power of Shivyogni

JAMMU, Sept 18: A well known scholar, Opinder Ambardar today gave a thought provoking public lecture on Shiv Yogni Laleshwari who is also popularly known as Lal Ded at Writers Club here, today.
The programme was organised by Abhinavgupt Shaktiveers Trust in its monthly lecture series highlighting the contributions of Kashmir Shaivdarshan to Indian philosophy including great Shivachariyas and Sidh Yogis of Kashmir from times immemorial.
The function was chaired by Vijay Bakaya former Chief Secretary.
In his address Opinder Ambardar termed Laleshwari a mystic saint of medieval Kashmir who was on highest pedestal of spirituality. “This can be borne from her Vaakhs which throw light on Shaiv philosophy of Kashmir, ” he added.
Ambardar out rightly rejected the theory that Lal had influence of any other religion or thought but was totally devoted to the Master of this universe Lord Shiva and she also mingled with him. He said her Vaakhs are full of Shaiv philosophy of Kashmir and one who understands her Vaaks understands the entire Shaiv Shastra of Kashmir.
He disowned all myths created about her by some vested elements and said that dialect of her Vaaks was pure Kashmiri language prevalent in rural Kashmir at that time.
Vijay Bakaya said Laleshwari was above worldly bondages who had full control over herself and attained highest place in spiritualism. She renounced the world and mingled with Param Shiva. He stressed on presentation of her Vaakhs in simple form to be understood by a common man. He said it was the high spiritual power of her Vaakhs that they were orally recited by people for 400 years from one generation to another generation.
On the occasion Ravi Ji Bhat from Ladhoo Pampore was presented Abhinavgupt Saman 2025 instituted by Trust from this year and in future it will be given every year to any member of the community who has done a remarkable work in the service of community.
Badri Nath Abhilash renowned Bhakti poet recited his new Leela on Laleshwari while welcome address was read by Avtar K Bhat, Chairman of the Trust and vote of thanks was proposed by Inder Krishan Raina co chairman of the Trust. Ashok Kangan senior trustee was also on the dais while stage was managed by well known broadcaster Ramesh Marhatta. The function was attended by galaxy of scholars, artists and prominent citizens.
