SOPORE, Sept 12: The Sopore Working Journalists Association (SWJA) has constituted a new body to represent journalists and work for their welfare.
A statement said in the newly elected body, Mehraj ud Din Lone was chosen as President, while Aabid Nabi was elected Vice President.
The statement further said that Suhail Khan was named Secretary of the Association, Waris Fayaz as Spokesperson, and Mohammad Ayoub as Treasurer.
The Association said it remains committed to free, fair and responsible journalism and will collectively work for the interests of its members.
The office bearers assured that they will take up the issues faced by journalists in Sopore and further strengthen the association.
