DF&SS protests against acute water crisis

JAMMU, Sept 11: Workers of Dogra Front & Shiv Sena (DF&SS) today under the leadership of their president, Ashok Gupta staged a protest demonstration and expressed resentment against PHE for acute water crisis in Jammu city.
Addressing the protesters, Gupta said that after three days water was supplied in the city but only for ten minutes and there is a huge shortage of drinking water.
The protesters also claimed that many areas in the city remained without power supply.
“People are concerned about the potential health risks associated with drinking contaminated water from unsafe sources,” Ashok Gupta further said adding that residents of Durga Nagar, Ustad Mohalla, Panjtirthi, Kacchi Chawni, Old Rehari, New Plot, Pakka Talab, Janipur, Sarwal and Subash Nagar also joined the protest.
The protesters rejected the claim of authorities that 80 per cent water supply has been restored and water tankers were reaching other localities.
They claimed that the administration was misleading the people with false assurances about restoration of water and power supplies.
Raju, Ganesh, Kalu, Prem, Bablu, Bantu, Vikram, Rampal, Suresh and others were also present in the protest.
