Hit-and-run case solved, driver held

JAMMU, Sept 10: Jammu and Kashmir Police in Pounichak area have solved a hit-and-run case in which a pedestrian was injured after being hit by a tractor that fled the spot.
A police official said the victim, identified as Mahadeva Chandra son of Biju Chandra of Champa in Chhattisgarh, at present Amar Colony, Jammu, was recently struck by a tractor that escaped immediately after the accident.
Following the accident, he said, a case FIR number 194/2025 under the relevant sections of the law was registered at Police Station Domana and investigation taken up.
During the course of investigation, the investigating team traced and seized the tractor bearing registration number JK02 DN 2936, he said.
Accordingly, the driver, identified as Sahil Saini of Sarora in Marh Tehsil, was also arrested, claimed the police official.
He said the CCTV footage and public cooperation played a vital role in cracking the case.
