Drug module busted in Katra; 4 arrested, heroin recovered

KATRA, Sept 10: In a major success, Police busted a drug peddling module and arrested four of its members besides recovering 22 grams of heroin from their possessing.
Three among the arrested persons are hardcore, notorious offenders against whom multiple cases have been registered.
According to Police, PSI Akhilesh Khajuria, I/C PP Kakryal, along with a police team was performing routine naka checking duty at PCP Sool Kakryal when they intercepted a Santro car bearing registration number DL7C/1800, coming from Manthal side towards Katra.
During their frisking, 22 grams of heroin was recovered from their possession. Accordingly, a case FIR No. 251/2025 U/S 8/21/22/29 NDPS Act was registered at Police Station Katra, and all the four accused have been arrested.
The vehicle was being driven by Vikas Sharma, son of Late Bodh Raj, resident of Katra, Reasi, while three other persons traveling with him were identified as Amit Sharma of Dansal, Jammu; Babloo Sharma of Jad, Akhnoor, Jammu and Amit Kumar of Kun Drorian, Katra.
Vikas Sharma was previously involved in two cases of P/S Katra (U/S 188/269 IPC and U/S 4/25 Arms Act). Babloo Sharma was previously involved in four cases of P/S Katra (U/S 307 IPC, U/S 307 IPC, U/S 109/191(2) BNS & 4/25 Arms Act and U/S 4/25 Arms Act) while Amit Sharma was previously involved in FIR No. 68/2019 U/S 34, 363, 376 RPC of P/S Udhampur.
The whole operation was conducted under the leadership of SHO Katra Insp. Khyatimaan Khajuria and supervision of SDPO Katra Dr Bhishm Dubey.
