CGPWA distributes relief among flood victims

JAMMU, Sept 8: The Central Government Pensioners’ Welfare Association (CGPWA) here today in collaboration with Jammu District Administration organized a relief camp for flood victims.
President CGPWA, Kuldeep Khoda, former DGP, Additional Deputy Commissioner Jammu, Ansuya Jamwal and members of the Association distributed the items of immediate need to the flood victims at Prem Nagar locality where the recent floods played havoc.
Nearly one hundred flood affected families were provided relief. The relief items arranged both by CGPWA and District Administration included utensils, cooker, pair of blankets, mattresses, bed sheets, pillows, and phenyl bottles.
Members of CGPWA have raised fund for providing relief in the shape of items of daily use as identified by the administration.
Speaking on the occasion, Khoda expressed his sympathy for the huge loss suffered by the flood hit people.
Ansuya Jamwal apprised the flood victims of the efforts of DC Jammu and the administration in reaching out to them in different parts of the district.
Among those who helped in distribution of relief items were general secretary CGPWA, K.B Jandial, treasurer O.P Sharma, former IGP, Ashok Gupta, former Executive Director NTPC, Vinod Padha, K.L Sharma, former Director GSI, M.L Kachroo and Dy Director Field Publicity and general secretary J&K Volleyball Association V.K Magotra.
