In the morning, the Holy Relic of the Prophet (PBUH) was displayed to devotees. The display continued throughout the day after each prayer, with devotees seeking blessings in an atmosphere filled with deep emotion.
Ghulam Hassan, a devotee from Budgam, described the occasion as full of blessings, noting that on this day, God sent “guidance” for all of humanity.
“Prophet taught us to love humanity, care for the poor, and reach out to those in need. This is the real philosophy, and this day stresses these values, impressing upon us the importance of embracing them,” he said.
Similar congregational prayers were also held at shrines and mosques across the Valley, including Asar-e-Sharif Kalashpora, Khanyar, Jinab Sahib Soura, Sonwar, Budgam, Bandipora and several other places, which witnessed impressive gatherings of devotees.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Omar Abdullah also joined the devotees at the revered Hazratbal shrine on the occasion. The CM offered Maghrib Namaz at the shrine.
After the prayers, he was blessed with a glimpse of the Holy Relic along with the congregation of devotees.
Former J&K Chief Minister Dr. Farooq Abdullah, Advisor to the Chief Minister Nasir Aslam Wani, and MLA Zadibal Tanvir Sadiq also participated in the congregational prayers.
On occasion, Abdullah prayed for everlasting peace, communal harmony, and the well-being and prosperity of the people of J&K.
He extended warm greetings to the people on Eid-e-Milad-un-Nabi (PBUH), urging them to uphold the noble teachings of the Prophet (PBUH) as a guiding light for unity, compassion, and service to humanity.
